Millie and the Impossible Battle Chapter 6

The Make Over of a Lifetime

Aphrodite walked me over to the kitchens and told me that she was going to get me a small snack as the dinners here were always very extravagant and filling. She then requested me to wait outside while she ran in to get it. I did as I was told.
While waiting, a small group of satyrs walked past me. They were completely distracted by papers that were in their hands as they were walking past till one looked up at me. He was very handsome, I guess, with dark brown skin and curling black hair. He couldn't have been much older than myself, maybe sixteen. They all came to a screeching halt and stared at me.
I could hear one whisper "That has to be her, who else would break the rules of dress in the palace of gods?" The handsome fellow who noticed me first replied to his friend, "Come on y'all, give her a break. She's gonna need it tonight, I've never heard great news come from council dinners with newcomers." I gulped, what were they going to do to me? I turn around and fidgeted. "Great Steve, you've gone and scared her. She can hear you know." I heard a sigh and clopping towards me. I turned around to see Steve in front of me. I gasped a little. "Oh my god you scared me, almost gave me a heart attack!" I said as I caught my breath. "I am so sorry ma'am, I had no idea. I apologize and on behalf of my friends and myself, we are sorry we have so rude and frightened you with our stories. You must be the new girl millie? My name is Steve Nissar, I too am American." He smiled and bowed, "Because of our rudeness, I offer my help while you are here for whatever you may need." He stood back up as Aphrodite walked out with grapes, wine, cheese and crackers, She frowned at steve.
"Steve." "Yes Ma'am?" "How many times have I advised against speaking to newcomers, you scare the wits out of them with your stories." "I am sorry ma'am, this time it wasn't quite directly." He scratched his head. "She overheard our whispers." "Even worse! You and your friends over there must stop this. Beevus and butthead get your butts over here NOW." She hollered with rage in her voice, two other satyrs both white and scrawny one with curly blonde hair and the other with shaved red hair quickly ran too her. "Brian, Steve and Mika, you must stop doing this. She is scared plenty without you making rumors about what will happen at the dinner. If I see you doing this again, you will be in detention, washing floors with a toothbrush for a week, is that clear?" "Yes ma'am!" They all three said in unison. "Good, now Mika and brian, scram go study for finals. For your rudeness and lack of competence, you three will be in bed before 10, is that clear? And Steve, you're needed by the council at once, I'd not keep them waiting. Move along." He bowed and ran off. "Are satyrs normally that gentleman like or is that just steve?" "It's just steve, normally satyrs are players, they are only gentleman like when there's something in it for them, with Steve he's always gentleman like, it's how his parents raise him. If you noticed, he was the only one to apologize for his friends rudeness, none of the others did it. That's typical for a satyr. At least, satyrs are nothing near as rude as fawns, their Roman counterpart. Hopefully, you'll never need to meet one. Now, let's head to the spa. I got us a snack and now it's time for a girls day!" She smiled and showed me the way.
The building was truly bigger than I thought, it had to be bigger than the mall of America. We walked for about ten minutes climbing stairs and making turns, that I could barely keep my head on straight. We then reached two glass doors that opened up to reveal what looked like a modern day spa, hair salon, dress shop and ancient greek bath house rolled into one. There was no one there except for a few nymphs about my age just chatting amongst themselves. "Natalia, Rosalinda, Banida, and Kara this is Millie, she is a newcomer and we need to make her feel special, at home here. So a bath, clothes, a new hair do and cut, and just spa stuff please? Oh and Millie, these are my daughters Natalia, Roslinda, Banida and Kara." She Smiled. "How do you do?" They all said in unison and waved. I smiled and waved back, "I am good and yourself?" They nodded and immediately set out to setting things up.
As they did so, I took the time to eat some of the snack she was kind enough to get. It was delicious! I loved it. Never had I tasted anything quite like it. Drunk on the tase of the food, I allowed the girls to get to work.

Millie and the Impossible Battle Chapter 5

Well I certainly Didn't Feel I Deserved This...

The door creaked open and in stepped Artemis, stunned. "Well that was quick sweetie." She stepped carefully to avoid any broken glass. "We need to go now, you are not safe here. We have people to meet at the airport. We must leave." She took a hold of my shoulders and hugged me, like a real mother would. My mother before never did this. I wished desperately to know who my real mother was. I wanted to hug her and have a real mother.
I smiled and nodded, I finally felt this was the start of my life. "Wait! What about the cat?" "Oh! I forgot, the school does need a principal." She snapped her fingers and the cat, who apparently sat at the desk appeared sitting and smiling. "Good job Millie, I am proud to have had you as my student. Be safe." She told her, looking at her. She surveyed the damage. "I have much work ahead of me." She bowed her head at Artemis. "Please stay safe and keep me updated, Lady Artemis." "I shall my dear." Artemis smiled. "Goodbye." And we walked out of the office.
On our way to the airport, the car was silent. I didn't really have much to say and she didn't either. When we got there, there were two men. Well built, clean shaved, tall muscular men who looked as if they were waiting for us.
"I see you have the girl, and in one piece I would hope?" said the blond man. "Apollo, you REALLY think I would... Never mind. It's not time yet. When does the plane leave?" Artemis questioned looking at her cell phone's clock. "When you want it to, we came on private plane. Faster and more safe." Said the other man. "I hope your right Ares, or you'll be swimming in your grave. Let's get moving,, I want to be in London sooner rather than later." Artemis responded. She then turned to me, "Follow me, and if you see ANYTHING suspicious you feel in your gut isn't right you tell one of us. Come along." I followed quietly, I wasn't too frightened but it was nerve wrecking not knowing what exactly was going on. Then again, when things weren't told to me, I tended to be a worry wart.
I stepped onto the private jet. I had never been on one before and when I stepped in, I was very surprised. Never had I seen a plane this extravagant or big before. The plane seats were like couches, big and fluffy. There was a kitchen, a kitchen! And a big flat screen tv. I stopped and gasped. This had to have been the best plane I have ever been in. I must have stood there for too long because I heard one of the guys say "Come on already, we've not got all day!" I quickly ran in and set my back pack down on the couch. "This is private jet?!" I exclaimed, "You can't be serious we are riding in this?! It's amazing, no no no it's beyond amazing it's..." I whispered, "Awesomesauce." Artemis looked at me, "You're such a dork." She laughed. "Yes, we are riding in this. The council has taken a very special interest in your safety so they allowed us the use of one of their private planes. You can eat whatever you want, ask Bill our chef to cook you it. We have cable, and if you need to sleep, let me know and I will escort you to your room. " She smiled. "I hope you enjoy the longride." I smiled and called for Bill. "Do you have steak?" He nodded and smiled, "We do!" "Could I have that with a side of mashed potatos and bread, oh! And can I have Dr. Pepper?" "Yes, Madame." He bowed and walked away. "You really don't skimp do you?" Ares asked me with a raised eyebrow. "No I love meat." He looked at Artemis. "Okay, very well then. Hope it takes alright." He smiled at me and continued to read his book.
My dinner was the best steak I had ever had in my life. It was juicy and delicious! I wish I could have it every day for the rest of my life that was just how good it was. Anyways, after I ate I decided that I would watch some tv since I rarely got to back at my old home. The nanny thought that the tv would only make me unruly, of course she blamed the tv and not my parents parenting skills right? I decided that I would watch a cartoon. It was very cute and by the end of one episode I was tired and decided that I was ready for bed. Artemis showed me to my room and I climbed into the big fluffy bed and fell right asleep.
I was woken up at about seven in the morning when we landed. I was still so tired, I had the strangest dreams. I always have strange dreams, but these were the strangest I have ever had- ever. I knew it meant something but my gut told me it wasn't the time to bring this up. I would know when, if at all, they are supposed to be. So I kept quiet. They two big men escorted Artemis and I to the car that was to take us wherever we were going.
As I rode in the car, I realized that London was not what I had imagined. I had imagined this beautiful, big city like Paris but what I saw was just like any big city. It wasn't like New York, not that type of city, just a city. There wasn't anything to special about it except for the palaces, but that was it. As we drove, the rain beat down on the front window. It was pouring, a great way to tell me I would never be the same. It was a saddening feeling. I knew I was never going to be the same. I knew things have changed, I would never see the few friends I had again, it took me a long time to make the one friend I had. I had a gut feeling that even that was set up. He was probably some sort of way for them to spy, he was probably paid to watch me and keep me protected. I sighed, the only thing I hated other than being uprooted completely, losing everything, was the fact that everyone I ever knew was lying to me. Everything that I knew, everything that happened to me in life up till now was a lie. I was angry and hurt, I felt so betrayed. I wanted to scream in anger but I knew I shouldn't. I knew it was all for "the best", I just wish that the best didn't involve betraying me.
Soon, we arrived at an old Victorian mansion. We parked and I got out, it was the best building I had seen since we landed. It was beautiful. I closed the door and stood, just staring at the building. It was bigger than anything I could ever see in the united states, at least I thought right?
As I stood, gaping at the splendor before me, Artemis came to me and snapped me out of it. "Listen sweetie, there's somethings you need to know before entering this building... One, you must be on your best behavior— no touching anything, no interrupting, use yes sir, no sir, don't be a smart ass, that sort of thing. Basically, act as if you are meeting the Queen herself, because you are meeting people who are much more powerful than the Majesty herself. Second, you are going to see things and hear of things that might, well will, surprise you. Do not be alarmed, well at least don't freak out ok? You want them to think well of you. AND lastly, whatever you do, do not, under ANY circumstances take ANY flowers from any little girls in the building. We can't have you under a trance before we start any business. Her name is Tracey, she is a nymph and the daughter of one of the goddesses here but she loves to play tricks, she's about seven years old and well, we've been trying to teach her she can't pay her tricks here but you know little kids. Maybe you can help, but just don't take the flowers alright?" She smiled and patted my back. "You'll be fine, just remember what I said. Let's head in, shall we?" she looked over to Ares and Apollo and nodded. I followed the three of them through two big wooden doors.
The building on the outside looked old and almost worn down, as if to make sure unsuspecting people didn't wander in unannounced but inside? Inside looked like a Greek temple, like one that had just been made yesterday. It was extravagant, everything made in marble. There was no electricity, the lights were flame, and the rooms smelled like rose petals. I saw two men walking out of one room, each wearing a toga and carrying rolls of parchment. They took no notice of use as they walked past... both on two goat legs. Yes I said it, two goat legs. Artemis looked at me and put her finger to her lips to silence me. She whispered "You'll know soon, no questions till then." And we continued walking. They weren't the only mythical creatures I saw, I also nymphs whose skin was green and hair made of leaves (must of been a wood nymph, yes I have read up on my mythology), faeries whose wings were made of pure colored light and looked remarkably human, other faeries who were so tiny that you could only see a spark of colored light, and a few manly centaurs roaming the halls. The building was huge, it was as if the build was bigger on the inside but smaller on the inside, kind of like that one British Sci-fi tv show with the blue box? Anyways, we walked for a walked for a while, then up a flight of stairs till we came to a hallway and at the end of this hallway sat two huge wooden doors and a few chairs outside of it like they were placed there for visitors waiting. When we approached the door, artemis told me to be patient and wait in one of the chairs till someone came out for me. So I did as I was told.
The chair wasn't at all comfy, although for my poor back's sake I wished it was. I sat bored out of my mind till I heard a little hum, a little girl's hum. She was humming some song from a Disney movie (which one I honestly couldn't tell). Soon she was in my eyesight, a little girl with like green skin, dark green leaf-like hair braided, she was wearing a pink toga and sandles (this must've been some sort of dress code). She skipped towards me humming and holding a flower. Oh dear lord, I thought, this is Tracey. She stopped abruptly in front of me and smiled.
"Hi, I am Tracey!" "Hi Tracey, I have heard of you and your flowers. My name is Millie, nice to meet you!" She sighed, "I know, I know. Mama said don't give you the flowers, if I make you sleepy, the work can't be done." She smiled, then frowned. "You have a funny accent, where are you from?" "I am American, from the United States." I smiled back. She smiled giddily and jumped onto the chair next to me sitting down on it. "Oh my gosh! Really? I haven't been there, I have wonder what it's like. Is it like London? Do you have a queen? What's it like in..." A woman with a beautiful, soft American accent cut in, "Honey, Millie just got off the plane, please do me a favor and not ask so many questions she will be here long enough for you to ask in due time. Now go run along." She frowned and pouted and ran off. I looked to see who was interrupting. The woman must've been a goddess, she was absolutely gorgeous. Model gorgeous. Wait... "Sorry about my daughter, she can be a handful. Thank god she didn't offer you a flower." She shook her head, "Anywho, my name is..." "Aphrodite, right?" I finished her sentence. "Yes how'd you know?" "Well, your beauty is nothing like what I have seen even in magazines. So I only assumed, pardon my assumptions." "You are completely fine my darling, for someone so new to this you seem to be catching on quite well. Since our introductions are done, I was sent here to retrieve you and get you bathed and cleaned up to be seated before counsel tonight at dinner. What better person to fix you up than moi!" We laughed. "You are very accurate, thank you, I really do need a shower, I feel all sticky and my back needs warmth— it is killing me." "No matter, I will call in some people and they'll help you out." She looked over at a clock on the wall, looks like some things were modernized. "Dinner is in 5 hours, lets get you a snack first and then we'll get you your make over!"

Millie and the Impossible Battle Chapter 4

The Elders

It was a rainy London afternoon. The building was old and Victorian, there was no sign on the front of the building giving the feel of mystery. It had always been this way, it was the main hub of the council of elders and had been for well over one hundred years. The council of Elders were a prestigious group of men and women, the council is always made up of Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades. They are in charge of the group, unless the person has not been reincarnated yet, the rest are specifically hand chosen by the main three. Zeus, Poseidon and Hades' reincarnations are in charge of all final decisions and the meetings in general.
The building was built and decorated like the Greek palaces of old, walking in one felt as if one had just went back in time. Everyone who came into the building must have a pass code and had to immediately change into the clothing of that time period. One wasn't permitted to dress modernly past the main hallway. This was the custom since the beginning of time and would not change anytime soon.
This meeting was called as an emergency, it was a very important meeting as only emergency meetings could be. As the reincarnations of the gods and goddesses filed in and sat down, there was a lot of whispers trying to guess what the meeting was going to be around. Once they were all seated around a very big, round marble table, the meeting began.
Three large men stood up, then the rest did as well. The other gods and goddesses stood, bowed to them and sat. "The Meeting of the Council of Elders has been officially opened." The biggest of the three and standing in the middle said and all three sat. "This meeting has been called in an emergency, as the prophecy has officially begun." Said the same man with a very serious tone. There were a lot of whispers that came across the room. The man frowned and scratched his white bearded chin, he raised his hand and the room went quiet. "But Zeus, what of the girl?" said one man across the table. "Ares and to those who are also wondering, she has been tested and is indeed a goddess, although it still is undecided what Goddess she truly is, we think her to be Demeter. This is only an assumption, but if true, and we are hoping this to not be the case, that would mean that the age old prophecy has indeed started and that she must be taught immediately. As such, I have sent Artemis to go retrieve the girl." Zeus said. The man to his left with dark brown curly hair, clean shaved, with deep sea blue eyes and with deep tan skin spoke, "Does she know, brother, about who I am to her in this life time? Does she know that I am indeed her father?" Zeus turned to his brother and replied, "Poseidon, that is something you must do. I must ask you to explain what Artemis was told not to. This is your daughter and now that she is tested, she must be explained to and trained. You must be the one to do both." Poseidon sighed, "Do not get me wrong brother, I want to have a relationship with her but why not her mother? Artemis should be the one to do this." There were many whispers. Then another stood up, she have skin of ebony and long black hair, she was absolutely stunning. "If I may interrupt my lord?" she spoke elegantly, "Yes, Aphrodite." Zeus said and Poseidon rolled his eyes. "You allowed your wife to go on this quest, don't you feel that you should be the one to take this quest on? From what I know about marriage," she glared at Ares and he immediately looked down, "it's a team effort. You both followed the rules for the main gods and were not allowed to see her growing, she watched and protected her. So please tell me why you refuse to help her?" She sat down and glared at Ares. Poseidon slammed his fist down on the table and every jumped. He stood and with anger pointed at her, "DO NOT QUESTION MY JOB AS A HUSBAND AND FATHER!DO NOT MAKE YOUR PERSONAL AFFAIRS, YOUR MARRIAGE WITH ARES MADE MY BUSINESS HERE." He bellowed. "Brother calm down." The third brother tried to calm him. He was snow white skin and black eyes, and pure black hair. Hades sighed and put his hands together in a fist, leaned his elbows and himself on the table and tucked his hands under his chin. "Hades I am too calm." "Everyone calm!" Zeus said. "I am done with these childish games, Poseidon you will do as I say and train the girl, that is how it is done with every generation you are no different. Now on to more important news and the reason we are truly here." Zeus sighed. "Kronos is back, he has infiltrated the council of leaders in the United states with his minions, this comes to me directly from Artemis herself. He has killed the ambassador and brutally murdered his family. AS a result, the council has fallen and the members have fled into hiding. This is in direct correlation of the prophecies, Brother, how could he have gotten out? Have you not the highest security watching that demon's cell in hell?"
"Zeus, I have the strongest guards assigned to his cell and many spells protecting it from being escaped or broken into, and as I said before and at your request of repeating here this is what has happened." Hades sighed and released his hands from under his chin, he rested them on a table and took one and swept it in the air. What looked to be a hologram but really magic, appeared to show the story of what happened. As he spoke the hologram would show what happened. "Hermes and myself traveled to his cell and the rest of the monsters' cells like our job from the almighty says to do, last week. All of the demons were there and accounted for but something caught both mine and Hermes' eyes. Something I haven't seen since Greece's fall. Hermes' I will allow you explain what the symbol was." A short, chubby man with a beer belly and dark brown shaved hair stood up and spoke, "Just as Lord Hades has said there was a symbol, in all my times this life and previous, I have only seen it once, this was after Greece's fall. When Jesus of Nazareth was crucified, the symbol was engrave on the cross. The sign is of Lucifer.," the hologram then showed them a symbol of an upside down five pointed star with some symbols in the empty spaces that are indescribable unless you saw them. "It only comes around when he has touched something. He was part of the crucification, there and relished in the son of light's death. That night Lucifer's symbol was there on several walls and then we came to Kronos' cell. I will let Hades continue from here." Hermes sat down and Hades cleared his throat and stood up to continue the story. "It was empty and the sign was left on the lock of the door. Now, only HE could've left that symbol and he has much stronger magic than I. I cannot out beat the devil at his magic. We looked and no guards stood in their places, we can only assume they were killed, taken hostage or took the dark side. I left Hermes to take care of the notes for today and quickly left to the White Room to speak with the creator. When I got there, the door had the symbol on the handle. The white room was splatter in red, it was defiled, disgraced, bastardize. No longer had the light lived there only darkness." The gods and goddesses gasped.
He continue on, "I felt someone behind me, and turned to find a man in white robes and with white hair. I knew this to be of light and a messenger for the creator never visits in person. The man stood before me and spoke to me 'Hades I am Gabriel, I am the messenger angel He has sent.' I bowed and straightened myself. 'I am of your service, as always.' I replied. 'You are not of my service, for I am below you on the totem pole, you know this but thank you for the kindness. This is a direct message from the creator himself and you must take heed or all shall be lost. Please listen carefully Hades and take this message back to the Elders immediately, you must call an emergency meeting.' I said at once, 'You can count on me to do this, please let him know this.' 'He knows that is why you are chosen to get the message to them. The message is this. Lucifer has taken it into his hands to once again break the Creator's orders and has thought to bring upon the apocalypse before time. He has released Kronos and all the evil gods and goddesses from the other major lands in hopes of them working with him to control all mortals and animals alike. His plan is once ruling, he will destroy all life and light and will rule over the Earth with his demons. You must help stop this, you must find the other gods and goddesses from the other lands and gather all to destroy them. The girl is prophesied to be the secret keeper, she keeps the secret of light in her mind and it must be opened! She does not have all the information, for there are five others of the prophecy that have the rest of the information from the other lands. Once gathered, they must lead the battle between good and evil and they will succeed, ONLY if all live till the battle, if one dies, you must be doomed to live for two years while the apocalypse begins till the new successor comes. You must not let this happen, you must keep all safe. The Creator does not want this to occur yet, it is not yet time.' 'Gabriel, may I ask what lands we can find them in and where to start?' I asked the angel, he replied with these five lands— Egypt, Norse, Celtic, Hindu and Mesopotamia. He quickly left after this." Hades said as the gods and goddesses whispered.

"Well why didn't you tell me about this brother?" Zeus glared at him. "I was not permitted till the meeting today, I am sorry brother." Ashamed Hades looked down. "No matter, what's done is done. We have our answer, Poseidon's daughter must be protected at all costs. We must find the book and Poseidon you must protect her as well, you must become the father you always wanted to be and are. Prove your worth." Zeus replied. Ares and Apollo stood up. "We volunteer our services to go and get the girl and her mother and bring her safely home." Ares said with Apollo in agreement. "Good, if your quest does succeed your accomplishments will not go unnoticed." Zeus said and the two men sat down. "Now that has been accomplished, we have nothing more to speak of till the girl arrives, unless there are any issues that need to be brought up we may begin tea time." Aphrodite stood, "Where will the girl stay? Where will she school? We must prepare for this as a group, for I fear if we are not all caught up, things may go wrong." She sat down and Zeus stood, "You are right Aphrodite, forgive me for not thinking of that. I have an idea if agreed upon by the elders and her parents. In order for her protection, I feel it would be safer for her to stay with her parents who've mastered their gifts, anyone who would wish to help with enchantments of protection that will be great and Hades and I shall invoke upon some of our friends in the rank of titans in the spirit world to help protect the girl and her family. She will be taught by Hermes.," "But sir what of my current job at the school?" "We will get another to fill it, you will be paid two times as much as you are paid at your job now. Poseidon, no need to worry about helping us you must worry about you and your family. No arguments. Anyone disagree with this?" There were no objections to this proposal. "If there are no more concerns, let's eat shall we? I am starved!" There were no more concerns voiced at the meeting. "Terrific!" and Zeus snapped his fingers, the servants brought in the food.

Well the Minotaur Didn't Like the Tea

"What the hell is that?!" I screamed as we ran and hid behind a new set of closed doors. "That, my dear, is a minotaur. He smells you and well, look at that he's here." She said as she slowly started opening the door to peak inside. "What are you doing? He'll see us!" I whispered to her. "Well we can't run from him, so we must make a plan of attack." She peeked inside once more. "Ah HA!" She quietly exclaimed. "I just remembered Minotaurs don't like tea! If we can figure out a way to use the tea, we can surely beat him. Dousing him with it may send him back to hell where he belongs. Pipes you must be the one to fight him." "WAIT, you're sending me in there when I have never even seen or heard of this creature to fight him, when you're the Goddess of the hunt?! You can't be serious." "Sorry hon, this isn't an ordinary Minotaur. This is THE minotaur. The minotaur that Zeus sends to make sure that the god or goddess is indeed who they say they are. This of course wouldn't have happened if I didn't have to hide you away and you not know of who you are. So ya, you gotta fight him. All you need to do is get the tea to touch his face. He is notorious for not liking tea after the Boston tea party incident," I looked at her confused, "Another story for another time. He will melt if you pour or splash it on his face. Warning you he has a very hot headed temper, don't allow him to affect you." She whispered. "Now get out there and prove I wasn't wrong." She opened the door and quickly pushed me through it and closed the door.
There he was. Standing there, a huge beast with the torso of a man, legs of a horse, and the head of a bull, sniffing and going through every drawer in the desk. He sniffed and looked up to me. He huffed and puffed, his face got red and he growled. I just stood there, scared to death but trying not to allow him to see it but he could smell it. He could smell my fear and he loved it. Like a little kid in a candy store who just saw his most favorite candy in the world, he ran for me. I had to think on my feet and quickly I jumped out of the room. I scanned the room, where was the tea pot? I thought to myself and quickly found it. I looked back at the beast and found he had got his horns stuck in the wall and I sighed. I ran for the tea pot and quickly grabbed it. By the time I had grabbed it, the minotaur managed to free itself. Hey at least he gave me extra time, right? Well he screamed, a scream that made one want to pee his pants. He huffed and ran toward me. I immediately opened the lid and when he got close enough, did exactly as I was asked. He screamed in pain as the boiling, hot delicious tea hit his bull face. He stumbled back and screamed, tearing at his face in agony. I hated seeing things in pain but I wasn't about to get myself killed on account of having a big heart. He screamed one last time and fell face first on the floor and disappeared.
"Well he obviously did not like the tea, although it was quite good." I said to myself.

The Time I Found Out My Principal was Really a Super Spy Cat

"WAIT, I AM WHAT?!" I screamed in disbelief. "Adopted, well sort of. I guess you could call it that." She rubbed her chin thoughtfully. "I put you with these abhorrent and hateful people for a reason, I am truly sorry about your first 14 years but it was for the sake of humanity that it was done." She said sadly. "I don't believe this. I am calling my parents." I said as I fumbled for my cell phone. "I wouldn't if I were you, they never listened to you before what makes you think they will listen to you now child? Besides this was decided upon when you were born, they have left town and moved. You will never see them again and for good reason." "I don't believe you, let alone do I eve know who you are. You still have yet to tell me your name so give me a good reason to believe anything you say?" I said eying her. She got up from her seat in her velvet red dress suit an walked over to me, she knealt down and whispered "Have you not had dreams, strange dreams that wake you and you're found floating above your bed? Have you never had strange things happen, things you just can't explain without looking mad? By the silence, I am guessing that you have." She got up, straightened herself and walked back to her seat to sit down.
She wasn't inaccurate. Just yesterday, I walked next to a barren tree and it gree leaves and blossomed cherries in under 1 minute. The time before that, a racoon followed me around for 3 days before he finally disappeared. I couldn't explain it and it definitely didn't help me with my situation at school.
"Who are you?" I asked. "I am known as Diana Stefani in this lifetime, but you probably know me better as the Goddess Artemis." "Woman you are officially out of your mind, completely and totally mad as you said it. I am getting security." I turned and caught her move her hand. The office doors slammed shut and locked without any movement except her hand. "I wouldn't if I were you. Now sit and have some of this delicious tea and cookies I had your really kind principal bring to me. You know, under that dusty exterior she is quite... purrrrrfect!" She giggled. I looked over to the cat. Then back to her. "Wait, you changed her into a cat?" "BAHAHA! I guess you could say that, or you could say I saw an opportunity an I pounced!" Diana laughed and the cat or should I say my principal the cat, rolled her eyes and jumped off the desk to only climb onto her lap and curl up in it, and proceeded to fall asleep. "I am confused..." I told her scratching my head. "No, I didn't 'make her a cat' God did that, I merely turned her human so that I could keep an eye on you without risking our cover." "You're telling me you're a godddess and my principal was or is or whatever, really a super spy cat, you sent to spy on me?" "Basically yup." "But gods and goddesses aren't real... How? If you guys exist, does that mean God doesn't?" "God? Oh he's completely real alright, but that is a whole different metaphysical matter that I personally do not have the time nor the resources for I will have to let someone else explain to you that aspect. As far as us," she pointed backk an forth to her and I, vice verse, "goddesses and gods go, we do exist. We are mortal... do an extent. We are here to do god's bidding, helped protect darkness from once more controlling the earth. So each lifetime we are reincarnated knowing our full duties from birth, usually we are trained with our powers and gift sets as a child but you were... different." I shook my head, I couldn't believe what she was telling me.
"You mean, me I mean I am a goddess?" I sputtered out of my mouth. That's why it happened, it came so fast I couldn't breathe. No knock just an explosion, in the hallway. "Oh crap, we need to go NOW." She got up and pulled me out of the chair. "NOW, unless you wanna be a fried goddess I would say we should RUN."

Millie and the Impossible Battle (Title Subject to Change)

Chapter One: Pipes What'd Ya Do Now?

*Millie Pipes please report to Mrs. Douaine's office immediately, I repeat Millie Pipes please report to Principal Douaine's office immediately* "What'd you do now pipes?", my best friend Andres whispered to me as I picked up my belongings and left Mrs. Hallday's very boring Russian history class. I could only look at him and shrug. Normally, a call out like this meant that my shenanigans had been caught and that I was getting some in school suspension or detention. They never dared to go any further than that because I was Colonel Pipe's bored and looking for attention daughter. I couldn't think of anything that would be a reason to give me a royal verbal smack down. I hadn't pulled any pranks nor had I been late for class once this week. I was actually the good Millie Pipes. I shuddered, that's exactly what I didn't want. I wanted to be the outcast, I craved the attention that would only come if I decided to be a troublemaker at school. I CRAVED for my father and mother to only shed one ounce of pretending to care. You see, being the daughter of one of the HIGHEST ranking military officials in the United States of America my parents never had time for me between the Galas and major meetings with the president. I was just a ghost, the small girl in the fake smiled photographs, you know the ones you see put up all over modern day houses trying to prove to the already not-so-fooled guests that they are the most happy loving family you could ever meet. My parents couldn't care less what I did or why I did it, they were never there.
I shrugged my backpack back onto my back and without looking up, walked calmly out of the classroom. I stepped into the frigid fall air from the warm classroom and headed to the east wing corridor where the principal's office resided. I never much cared for the old woman. She smelled of cats and stale bread. She looked like a snooty cat who was just denied fresh fish every time I walked into the office. I continued to walk to her office in the cold air thinking of what I could've done to land me there again. I honestly couldn't think of one thing that I could've done.
Before I knew it, I had already crossed the campus of Eachmond High and stood in front of her giant office. I took a deep breath and released it, I proceeded to face my worse fear...
A cat. Wait, where is the principal? I stood staring at the cat as it purred back to me in satisfaction. "Hello? Anyone here?" I whispered. "Ah there you are!" I turned to great a short, blonde British woman. "You must be Millie!" She said with a strong British accent, "I have heard a great deal about you! You are stunningly beautiful, just like in all those pictures!" Confused I asked, "Um... I'm sorry for being rude ma'am but who are you if I may ask?" She laughed, "I totally forgot introductions, how very rude of me! I know you, but you do not know me. Oddly, as I thought your parents would've told you." She sighed. "I need you to sit down, what I am about to tell you is not only going to be hard to hear but it will hurt."

Bring Me Home

Chapter One: The "In Between"

What does one think of when they see the word life? Does one ponder what their life has been like? What they've done or not done? I guess that's sort of what I think about. Well, that's what I think about now. I never realized how short life could actually be. I would've never imagined that it would end so shortly, I imagine it has ended. I thought I would live past seventeen. Graduate High school, go on to Harvard and become the lawyer that I wanted so desperately to be.
That's not how it works though, unfortunately. Some of the things you want to happen may never happen. Sadly, your life could be cut short by some heinous acts. Sadly, my family suffers from it. They have no idea where I am, what has happened to me. I don't know if they would want to know.
I stood in this great abyss, beautiful as it is I want back. "Am I dead?!" I screamed out into that abyss, hoping to get an answer. I didn't feel entirely dead but I definitely didn't feel alive. "SOMEONE FIND ME!" I screamed and hit the air in front of me that becomes a piece of glass. I step away from the glass as it brightens. I looked closely and it showed me my family. They stood and sat around the table distraught. My father paced, scared to death and my mother ringed her hands. My older sister made fliers and my youngest brother was asleep at the table. Even my dog Muffin was moping.
I slammed the glass trying to get them to hear me "MOM, DAD I AM HERE!! Find me!" I shoved the glass crying and the glass becomes liquid. I touched it and saw that I can go through. I stepped through the glass and I am standing in my living room.
I looked at the calendar and it's been two days since the incident. I didn't know where I was, nor do I know what to tell them. I cried, I wanted them to know. I wanted them to bring me home. I wanted to be out of this nightmare. I didn't know what had happened, why I was in this in between state but I knew that I must find out or I wouldn't be able to help them.
I sat down at the couch. I needed to remember, I needed to open that part of my memories, but how? There was a knock at the door, sadly Muffin didn't get up and bark like she used to. She sighed and laid there. Too saddened by grief to move. My father ran to the door, in hopes of good news, which he won't receive.
Those who were at the door were two cops, I couldn't make out what they are saying, but I could read their lips, they were saying that nothing or no one was found yet.
Then it hit me like a tornado, this whirlwind or gust of wind swept me away to this road. This road was the road I drove home on every night. I saw my car, I walked closer to it. As I walked closer I noticed that I am in the car talking to someone. So I walk closer and saw that what looked like that happened was I was pulled over by a cop but in my gut I felt it was not a cop. He touched my dark brown hair and told me to remove myself from the vehicle. I couldn't say no or I'd be killed, so I got out of my car. Then the wind comes back and It's the same day I had seen my family and the car was still there. This fake police officer had been very careless.
